'Wake Up Baby' is an ocean of gliding guitar tones, a drifting and mournful tape from Lexington-based MaTurner's Mazozma project. The new name combines his normal solo moniker (née Michael) and the title of his 2014 album 'ZOZ' (Sophomore Lounge), having first appeared at the end of 2015 as the title of a tape via Robert Beatty's new A.H.E.M. Editions imprint. Beautifully layered long-form ragas and more ragged bursts, plaintive but still overtly psychedelic.

"It's mountainside terrain warmed by the sun and chilled by the snow. It lives up near the top of the trees where the wind is king, where the view is best, where I leave my head." -Tiny Mix Tapes

"...dreamy and spatial . . . one of those guitar-heavy cassettes that just goes to show you what one instrument is capable of on its own two feet, if you just know how to manipulate it properly . . . makes me feel like the potential of a guitar in the hands of Mazozma is limitless." -Raised By Gypsies

"Held in front of baby admittance to sun, and light that passes through cold, and calm. Holding hands in flesh acoustic valleys with bridges colored florescent, a hundred bones kept clean with sharp tongues in galaxy hazing tent while grandparents cry with their eyes, sleeves soaked, celestial at times… Body in A.M. morning mourning the inhabited cross in between life, and death, earth, and flame, animal, and corpse weary during the chorus as it rises with age, and volume throughout the name, and night." -We Keep The Neighbors Up
