Flamingo Creatures is Ronnie Oliveras and Ruth-Maria Adam, collaborators with a long focus on improvised psych. They share many years in German psych collective Datashock, but also have a long string of unrelated projects. To date, they've shared more than a dozen Flamingo Creatures cassettes, with standouts on Digitalis, Feathered Coyote, and Full of Nothing. Their tracks here are varied and absorbing, like the rest of their catalog. We are very psyched and very jazzed to have them.
Nils Quak is a modular synth wizard and true sonic explorer. Also based in Germany, we know Nils from more than a decade of diverse and engaging cassettes. His work appears in many catalogs, occasionally overlapping with Ronnie and Ruth -- as it did this spring thanks to Feathered Coyote and his engrossing 'Charon Transfer 1977' cassette. For their split though, he edges in a surprisingly meditative direction. His work can often be colorful, cosmic, and/or cryptic, but he still finds ways to raise the bar a bit higher with each release.
"A split from modular synth wizard Nils Quak and free-form psych duo Flamingo Creatures splits the difference between cosmic and organic." -Bandcamp Daily
"Like children, we create a small area illuminated by flashlights to read and look through fascinating subjects. In this instance, both Nils Quak and Flamingo Creatures hold our attention. They deliver the heaviness of a condensed atmosphere, the comfort of being secluded, with the warm intensity of prismatic aural delight." -Lost in a Sea of Sound
