about

'Strands/Immersed' collects producer Igor Ivanov's first releases as Window, released digitally in 2011 and 2012 respectively. Though Ivanov's frequent collaborator Sami Blanco featured on the closer to 'Strands,' these tracks are a warped forerunner to the pair's more ambient AT/NU recordings for 1080p. Both EPs are tightly wound explorations of the urban tilt to electronica, juke and psychedelic beatwork, all built into a colorful hallucination of cyborg muzak.

"...the producer’s vision of a technologically intricate world comes off less like a stark digital playground exemplified by animation, film, video games, and glitch, and more like the moment when a dangling leaf lets a rain droplet tenderly fall to the forest floor. On this new/old collection from Crash Symbols, two of those EPs are compiled with extra remixes from the likes of Matrixxman and Jónó Mí Ló. The effect is as blissful as it is dizzying. Totally worth the flashbacks." -Weird Canada

"R&B-soaked... frantic beatwork." -XLR8R

"The whole thing radiates positive energy and is a prototypical example of what trance should sound like. For this reason I found the music to be just as suited for a packed club’s dance floor as it is for a relaxing night in. The dense soundscapes and occasional samples tastefully thrown in foster an atmosphere of relaxation yet simultaneously upbeat. Despite the fact that there are 20 of them, not a single nor remix song felt repetitive." -Cassette Gods
