dudgrickbevins Every tape I’ve bought from Crash Symbols label has been great, but this PAQ tape is the best so far — not just from the label but possibly from what I’ve found in the Bandcamp experimental explore section.

The album is chill without being sleepy. It moves along nicely and the long first track on side b is a great rainy day track. The digital album would be good, but the warmth of the cassette is nice. The design is also very lovely and thoughtful as an art object, especially the said a

about

"The forest at night is a swarm of tensive lights and hyphal highways, where a brave Saprobiont launches his 'Luminoso Radiomessaggio.' Formed in moisture, mixing enzymes, carbon, larch bark and owl feathers fall from a dancing tree. Macromolecules of sound fly like pollen on boiling streams, while meditating cows levitate above the diamond sea of consciousness and ghosts surf the ocean of time."

Named for the branching filaments that make up fungal mycelium, Hyphae is an organic collection that grew naturally out of related sounds and ideas. Composed over several years by Rimini-based multi-instrumentalist Andrea Rusconi, aka PAQ, Hyphae offers fragrant, but mellow psych, as complex and far-reaching as its namesake.

"...a glorious chunk of smooth aqua funk, golden mutant groove." -Lighten Up Sound

"...lysergic sound twisting and winding into a grooving structure." -The Sun Lounge

"...in this expanse, the roots of bass and drums have fostered giant trees. Melodies from perched birds sing in beautiful concord..." -Lost in a Sea of Sound

"This tape is insane..." -Tabs Out Podcast
